3-D Photography for the Masses

3-D for Everyone

Stereoscopic photography (3-D) isn’t new but the spin Mission3-D has put on it is.  What used to be a difficult process reserved for the select few willing to put in the time and hard work needed to produce true 3-D images has now been made into a simple process available to the masses.  With the new Mission3-D Photo3-D 303 kit anyone can now make true 3-D photographs simply and affordably.

How It Works

The Mission3-D Photo3-D 303 kit comes with everything you need to create your own stunning 3-D images including a hand-held pistol grip tripod, Photo3-D 303 camera attachment, Photo3-D Mixer software, 1 pair of plastic framed 3-D glasses, 5 hand-held 3-D viewers, 3 pairs of paper 3-D glasses and 1 Photo3-D greeting card.  The only thing you need to provide is a digital camera and your imagination.  The Photo3-D 303 Kit will work with any digital camera, D-SLR or point and shoot.

To create your stereoscopic image, simply attach your digital camera to the included Photo3-D camera attachment.  The camera attachment has two positions, left and right.  Take your first picture with the camera in the left position, then slide the camera to the right position and take your second image which is needed to create your stereo pair.  A tripod is necessary in order to insure proper alignment of your stereo pairs.  You can use the included mini tripod or your own.  Once you’ve created your stereo pair, import them into your computer and bring them into the Mixer3-D software.  The Photo3-D Mixer software will work with both color and black and white images.  As you import your stereo pairs into the Mixer3-D software you need to tell it which is your left image and which is your right image.  The Mixer3-D software will then create your stereoscopic photograph by applying red and blue filters and combining the images.

Now that you’ve created your 3-D photograph you can either save it as a bmp or jpeg file (at input resolution) or send it directly to your printer.  Your 3-D photographs can be printed at the included presets (4x6, 5x7 or 8x10) or any other size that your printer supports (1x14, 11x17, 13x19, etc).  Once you’ve printed your 3-D photographs you’ll need specialized glasses in order to view them.  Fortunately, the Photo3-D 303 Kit comes with nine pairs of 3-D glasses (glasses with one red lens and one blue lens).  If that’s not enough, or you would prefer a different style, Mission3-D offers a wide variety of 3-D glasses in different styles and price ranges (including pairs with paper, plastic and metal frames) which can be purchased separately.

Closing

The Photo3-D 303 Kit is certainly one of the most unique gifts you can get for yourself or that special photographer in your life.  It’s simple to use, priced at a point which makes true 3-D photography available to everyone and delivers on its promises.  It may be the most fun you can have with your digital camera this holiday season.
