Digital Black & White
I’ve heard from many photographers that the reason they
haven’t jumped whole heartedly into digital was due to their love of black and
white photography and they didn’t believe they could get quality black and
white out of a digital workflow. The
reality is that the digital workflow can deliver stunningly beautiful black and
white prints. And you don’t have
to be a Photoshop expert to get those great results either.
BW Workflow Pro is a black and white photography plug-in that takes the guess
work out of making black and white conversions of digital images.
Novices can choose presets that mimic their glass filter counterparts
(red, green, blue, yellow, etc.), get very good results and can do some tweaking
by using the “tweak” and “intensity” sliders.
The plug-in will also grow with users allowing them to manually tweak
individual settings as they become more advanced.

BW Workflow Pro is accessed through the Photoshop Automate menu

The Interface – Clean and Simple
While we all want the most powerful computer we can get for processing our
images, that isn’t always possible and BW Workflow Pro has the older computer
owner in mind. By default, the
“preview” checkbox is unchecked allowing the plug-in to do its work without
losing resources to drawing a preview. Owners
of more powerful systems can check the preview check box and get a large preview
of the effects as they are being applied. This
is a key feature and even those with slower systems would be best served by
turning it on and leaving it on. While
it may take a slower system a longer time to work with the preview box checked,
you’ll see the effects when they are applied so there’s no guessing if
you’re getting the result you want.

BW Workflow Pro Interface Basic Selections
As you become more comfortable with BW Workflow Pro you can expand the creative
possibilities by tweaking your settings using individual sliders for each RGB
channel (red, green, blue), adding film “grain”, enhancing dynamic range (DNR)
and adding effects such as Duotones. Tritones and more.

Dynamic Noise Reduction
Using plug-ins is a great way to enhance your workflow and
BW Workflow Pro recognizes that and gives you the ability to batch process your
files saving you even more time.

Adding Film Grain
If you’re a fan of black and white photography than you should strongly
consider BW Workflow Pro. It’s a
great plug-in that delivers on its promises and does so at a great price –
only $29.90. BW Workflow Pro is
